Despite Bob’s lifelong love of - and participation in - rugby, this weekend will see his son, Miles’, very first experience of Twickenham in all its thunderous glory when he takes to the hallowed turf to photograph the game for the RFU.

“It’s an honour for the Six Nations to reach out and I can’t wait to get down to the stadium. I’m very excited. It’s one of my favourite things to do in my spare time.

“It’s not my first rugby game but definitely my first Guinness Six Nations game so very excited about that.”

The filmmaker and sound engineer will take his Canon F-1, Pentax 6×7, a polaroid and 3D film camera to bank a wide range of shots, with the express aim of distilling the emotion and fervour of a Guinness Six Nations match onto cellulose.

“I think one of the things I’ll be concentrating on before and after the game is capturing the atmosphere of the crowd, getting in and amongst the fans and capturing the vibe. Then during the game itself I’m trying to capture things from a slightly alternative perspective.

“I’ll be using these old vintage cameras which lend themselves to that old school aesthetic. So I’m going to be trying to catch some of the expressions on the players’ faces and then turning round to face the crowd and getting their reaction too.”
