“What was an incredible @c2cfestival weekend of music, sessions, broadcasts and love - a weekend that I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to host.
Last Monday I slipped on the wet concourse at Paddington Station and did a ridiculous impression of ‘Bambi on Ice’ before crashing down on the cold hard ground… and breaking two ribs! It was agony!! I was in hospital last Wednesday - the day before my weekend was due to start - wondering if there was any way I’d be able to make it, but I was determined.
There was no way I could miss one of the best events of the whole year and I’m so glad I battled through, because it turned out to possibly be my favourite C2C Festival ever! The atmosphere was fabulous, the music was so exciting and I’ve established what I know will be a lifelong friendship with my main stage and BBC radio 2 co-host @breland… plus I finally got to meet @carolinejones.
Thank you to @markflhagen, @motorcyclealan and the whole @sjmconcerts and R2 teams for helping me through it all, and a big shoutout to all the fans I met who were so kind and caring. I love the Country Music Community. Thank you to everyone for a really brilliant weekend.
