The Wandering Hearts
The Wandering Hearts had already enjoyed the phenomenal experience of recording their second album deep in the Catskills with producers Simone Felice and David Baron, but their adventure would be extended with another remarkable chapter. They met up with the legendary Marty Stuart (a five-time Grammy Award winner and a former member of Johnny Cash’s band) in Nashville, who offered them ‘Dreams’, a song he had written with his wife, the country star Connie Smith.

John Hiatt with The Jerry Douglas Band released Leftover Feelings on May 21st - the first collaboration by these longtime friends. The11-song set was produced by Jerry Douglas and recorded at Historic RCA Studio B in Nashville, Tenn. A meeting of two American music giants in a legendary setting, Leftover Feelings is neither a bluegrass album nor a return to Hiatt’s 1980s days with slide guitar greats Ry Cooder and Sonny Landreth. There’s no drummer, yet these grooves are deep and true. And while the up-tempo songs are, a sever, filled with delightful internal rhyme and sly aggression, The Jerry Douglas Band’s empathetic musicianship nudges Hiatt to performances that are startlingly vulnerable.
Kathleen Edwards
By 2014, singer-songwriter Kathleen Edwards had released four studio albums and amassed widespread critical acclaim. She had been touring since the release of her 2012 albumVoyag eur. She put her guitar away, at least for awhile. But in 2018, she received an unexpected phone call that changed that. Maren Morris, a longtime fan, invited her to Nashville for a songwriting session. Thompson has received Lifetime Achievement Awards for Songwriting on both sides of the Atlantic, and is the recipient of an Ivor Novello Award. He was awarded an OBE in 2011.
