“Whispering” Bob Harris has partnered with Absolute Label Services for a new record label as part of his Under The Apple Tree brand.

The deal coincides with the celebrations for Bob Harris’ 50 years on the BBC, including a repeat of the special tribute to The Old Grey Whistle Test. Harris currently has a country music show on Radio 2.

It has taken more than a year of collaboration to reach this moment and we are all thrilled with the results. And this is just the beginning. Over the next few months the site will grow as we pour more and more information online for you to explore and enjoy.

Bob was delighted to be cast in Tom Harper’s brilliant film “Wild Rose” alongside Julie Walters and the film’s magnificent star Jessie Buckley.

On the occasion of Bob’s 70th birthday Bob was utterly delighted to receive this surprise greeting from the former manager of Bob’s beloved Manchester United.

Thomas did a session for Bob on 18th February 2016 just as his song, “Die A Happy Man” was Number 1 in the US.

Bob was Kirsty Young’s guest on the iconic BBC Radio 4 show in early 2014. His picks included Robert Plant, Neil Young and of course his all time favourite pick, Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me”.

While the doors to the beloved Green Note venue remain closed and the whole world as we know it seems to have turned upside down, they wanted to continue to do what they love doing and so they present “Virtually Green Note… in the round”… a series of specially-curated, unique online musical events that will run every Wednesday and Friday evening at 8pm (UK time), streamed live to their website, YouTube and Facebook pages.

The Royal Albert Hall has been at the heart of my musical life for more than half a century.

Whether arriving through the grand main entrance or the iconic stage door, I’ve visited this glorious venue countless times. From Cream’s farewell performance in 1968 to the BBC Proms in 2022, I have loved spending time here. It is a very special place and I remain, to this day, awestruck by the magnificence of the building, the beauty of the auditorium and the attention to detail that makes the Royal Albert Hall one of the most acoustically accurate venues in the world.

In 1994 Bob featured as the subject of Danny Baker’s series, “Heroes of Television”.

The show was broadcast on BBC2 as part of the music programme The Old Grey Whistle Test with the audio later broadcast on BBC Radio 1. Whistle Test presenter Bob Harris introduced the band onstage and later recalled that Queen "were in party mood at the Hammersmith Odeon that night".

Bob’s classic interview with the former Beatles was recorded in New York in March 1975 and broadcast on the Old Grey Whistle Test on 18th April that year.
